Le Complexe Rendez-vous Inc (incorporated December 10, 2007 )
The road to realizing this beautiful project has been a long one. The idea of having a French-speaking nursing home in the Neguac area had its beginnings at a public meeting in the 1960s. The Neguac community met to set up the project of having a nursing home in their community.
In 2007, a committee of people from the Alnwick-Neguac region was established to promote the need to offer long-term care services to citizens in their communities, and in their mother tongue.
In 2009, the Minister of Social Development announced the construction of a 30-bed nursing home to serve citizens in the community of Neguac. The groundbreaking ceremony for the nursing home took place on July 16, 2010.
The announcement of a new nursing home was reconfirmed in March 2012 by a new government. Negotiations took place between the Department of Social Development and the Board of Directors of Villa Providence Shediac Inc.
The construction of the home is supported by a Community Advisory Committee with regional representation. This committee acts as a resource to the Board of Directors in planning, implementing and evaluating the services and activities to be offered by the home.
In the fall of 2014, construction of the home begins. In November 2017, Complexe Rendez-vous Inc. finally welcomed its first residents and opens its doors to offer state-of-the-art long-term care services to its community and neighboring communities. The Community Advisory Committee still exists, representing the voice and needs of local citizens to the Comfort Life Network Board of Directors.
